The Littlest Musician

Judah adores music, especially when it is made by his guitar and harmonica playing daddy.  It's become a nightly tradition for him to hang out with Dwayne while I read to the older children.  Usually this involves the acoustic or steel guitar, and sometimes a harmonica.  Judah happily moves to the music and will use just about anything handy as a drum to keep time.  The other evening one of the kids gave him this little toy banjo to play with and he was proud as could be holding onto an instrument just like his daddy.  The excitement proved to be too much though and within a minute or two of the music ending we looked over to find this: 

 

Banana songs!

For whatever reason, we got "Yes, We Have No Bananas!" stuck in our heads this week which led to me searching for "banana" in our iTunes library.  Turns out we have no fewer than 4 banana songs!  Here's a little banana music for your weekend. 

 

 

 

 

Piano!

Last night we (and by we I mean Dwayne, my dad, and a couple of friends) moved the piano from the old house to the new one.  Yay!  It has been almost 6 months since I've been able to play it.  At the moment it sits in the middle of the living room waiting for me to make space for it.  I have to figure out where to move a rather large desk and hutch that holds our computer before I (and again, I mean Dwayne & company!) can move it into it's proper place.  That hasn't stopped me from playing it already though!  I played from the only three music books that aren't in boxes at the moment - a Jane Austen themed one with pieces from Sense & Sensibility (Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet & Hugh Grant version) and Pride & Prejudice (1995, Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle), a collection of hit movie songs, and The Lion King.  Ha!  It was fun.
