Here are a few things that made us smile around here this week:

Have you seen the wonderful digital advent calendars put out by Jacquie Lawson?  We've loved the animations and activities and it is now a very much looked forward to part of our Christmas preparations.  This year's calendar has an Edwardian theme.  We can't wait until December 1st when the first "door" is activated.  You can get the desktop versions here.  There is a free edition for iPad of the Alpine Village and a $0.99 London version in the AppStore.  This will be my first year trying an iPad version in addition to the desktop.  I'm sure both will be delightful!  Here is a screen shot of the nighttime view from the London calendar we had one year.

Did any of you watch Faerie Tale Theatre?  My sisters and I loved to borrow the series on VHS tape from the library when we were kids.  I recently bought the DVDs so I could start watching them with my kids.  I discovered some of the stories are available on YouTube as well.  Here is a link to the first part of my favourite - The Dancing Princesses.

My version of "Madonna and Child", taken somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean in an airplane lavatory.  These antics were inspired by a link posted by my friend Sarah.  Check out the airplane lavatory photos here and Sarah's blog over here. 

- This comedian was recommended to me by our coach driver in England.  (Warning: There are a few one liners that aren't child appropriate so you may want to watch this once the kiddos aren't nearby, but overall it is quite clean for stand-up comedy.)
