This Easter was a little bit different for us. It may actually have been the first Easter we have ever had with just our little family since we were married. Usually we celebrate with family and friends but this year finds most of the usual cast of characters moved away or on vacation. Dwayne took both Good Friday and Easter Monday off and so we were able to feel as though we had a bit of a mini holiday ourselves. We did a few minor projects around the house like move a bit of furniture, Dwayne did some small repairs on the snowmobiles, the garage got cleared out a bit, and Dwayne also scraped the snow out of the driveway at our old house (it was almost thigh deep snow!). A lot of time was spent playing with, reading to, and just hanging out with the kids. We had so much fun! The kids spent two afternoons driving the tiny snowmobile around our backyard. The dog thought he was in heaven with the kids out to play and something to chase. We went to church on Sunday morning, tried to get a group photo of all the kids smiling at once (almost!), did an Easter egg hunt for the kids, and generally relaxed. We had our main meal at suppertime on Sunday and all the kids helped to set the table, create a centerpiece, and make dessert. Riley came up with a game for us to play at the table after we were done eating. With all the time outdoors we didn't actually dye/decorate/race eggs until today. I even got a chance to go for a walk with a mom friend of mine who I rarely see and we both were able to slip sans children which is a rarity! Here are a few photos of our weekend.
