Joining up with Ginny at Small Things for a knitting and reading update. :)
I am so excited to be making visual progress with this cowl. My understanding of the stitches has definitely come a long way. If I make a mistake I can correct it now without having to pull out the whole project, which I did many, many times. It also helps when you are remembering the pattern correctly as it looks so much more like the picture on the pattern! Haha! Most of this was done in the last 24 hours. It goes so speedily with the chunky yarn and big needles.
I am still reading "Mukiwa" and have started "Real Learning: Education in the Heart of the Home" by Elizabeth Foss as well for something completely different.
I am feeling bitten by the spring cleaning bug all of a sudden and today we started scrubbing the hardwood floors (we have the thin strip kind) with old toothbrushes. It is looking and smelling so good! (Idaho Blue Spruce and Lemon oils combined smell so fresh and invigorating!) I'm alternating scrubbing a while with knitting a while, and then scrubbing a while with reading a little. Progress on all three fronts!
nice knitting. I must have had a little of that fever today, too as I was supposed to be working hard in the home office but found myself in the house on several occasions doing a much-needed tidy or put away.
Is there a finish on your floors? this oil doesn't make them slippy??

I have been bit with the spring cleaning bug too! I stayed up late last night cleaning the kitchen, and I am itching to do the insides of all my cupboards and drawers. Something about the sun shining through the windows again and revealing all the dirt!!

Karen Sue, there is so little oil in the mixture (10 drops or so in a solution with water, vinegar, and teeny drop of dish soap) that slipping isn't an issue. :) My floors actually are bordering on tacky at the moment, I'm wondering if they were waxed in the past and perhaps now I need to strip them and redo them. I've never had hardwood floors before. Ours never look clean and shiny no matter how recently they've been scrubbed and I've used the same solution on laminate and linoleum before and they have come out wonderfully.

Hi Linds!
I missed these comments somehow! Yes, that extra sunshine at this time of year really highlights the spots where dust has collected in the dark winter months. Everywhere I look it seems that something needs cleaning. It should be warm enough this week that I can tackle the outside of our big living room window which has been bugging me since October! Ha!
