Hendrik's school had their final primary assembly last Friday morning. His teacher called me Thursday evening to let me know that Hendrik would be receiving the "Good Guy Award" for her class for the last month or so. Here's the text from his award:
Good Guy Award
Presented to: Hendrik because...
Hendrik is an enthusiastic student. He is polite and a good friend. He is a very good reader. He has read 100 books. He is starting to speak in French most of the time. He has an excellent comprehension and understands the difference between a simple and a complex question. He loves center time and gym. He has improved tremendously on his printing! Bravo!

Receiving his award from his teacher.

I love the expression on his face here!
Hendrik was very pleased to get this award and has already asked me when he might get another "Good Guy Award". We've read it aloud together a few times so he could work on words like "enthusiastic" and "tremendously". He always corrects me (nicely) when I read "He has read 100 books", and says "Over 100 books Mom!". (His teacher said "over 100 books" when she read the award out loud in the assembly and he definitely remembers what she said.)
