I've been having some trouble getting videos to upload so this post is actually from July 3, 2008.
I was responding to some emails and glancing out the window when I noticed a dark purple cloud heading in our direction. I wasn't sure if it was a passing cloud but as I had almost dry laundry on the line I didn't want to chance it. I ran outside and hurriedly pulled the laundry off the line. I had been inside less than 30 seconds when it started to pour. Then it was tropical storm pouring. And hailing. Crazy.
Less than 10 minutes of rain and we had little lakes all over the yard and driveway. Actually, there is a chest deep puddle under our front porch right now. We have our water tank stored under our porch and so there is a space about 6 feet high that we can access via a door in the bottom of the wall. The water filled up to over halfway up the door. It's probably time to get some rain gutters so we can redirect the water better. Not sure how much it would have helped with this amount of water though. Here are a couple of videos of our short lived but intense afternoon rainstorm.
Sorry, this one is sideways.
